Schafer Systems Inc. Employee Owners Celebrate 15 Years!
On October 24th, Schafer Systems Inc. opened their doors to their clients, key suppliers and community with an Open House celebrating being incorporated for 15 successful years! The employee owners shared their business knowledge and expertise via plant tours. Door prizes and treats were dispersed and the day’s events were broadcast over KSOM, a local radio station of Atlantic, Iowa.
The Schafer employee owners also chose to share a portion of their good fortune through the Adopt-A-Wish® program of Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Iowa. During the open house, they presented the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa with a check in the amount of $5,000. This contribution will allow Kayla Peterson, Schafer’s 8 year old Adopt-A-Wish recipient from Boone, Iowa, to realize her wish of going to Hollywood over the week of Thanksgiving. Kayla and her family were escorted to and from Schafer’s open house in a limousine. The employee owners entertained Kayla with gifts and treated her like a “Hollywood Star” during her entire visit. Kayla suffers from a life threatening brain tumor for which she has undergone surgery and chemotherapy in the past two years.
In a time when the economy is slow, the stock market is down and a lot of small businesses are struggling, Schafer Systems’ employee owners feel very fortunate to experience substantial growth in the past year.
